Roles [solo version]

He never was picked 
for the role of Joseph.
He was one of those kids
who no one noticed.

The type barely seen,
more rarely heard,
not a Herod, Innkeeper, 
Second Shepherd.

He was not asked to bring
a crown for a King,
or wings for an Angel
(no one knew he could sing).

Instead he would be 
Cow Number Four,
a Rock or a Bauble, 
or The Stable Door.

And now, forty years on, 
it could still make him wince,
for it seemed that his life
hadn't changed that much since.
