Reviews

review of first performance (December 2009 / St John's Smith Square London / Chapelle du Roi / Alistair Dixon)
"He (Ayres) made use of some wonderful harmonies, and the central section used different solo lines, entering one by one with a dance-like motif which provided an interesting change of texture and mood. The chant-style Gloria seemed more subdued in comparison, and had an eerie effect. This was another well structured piece which could make its way into the repertoire."

R. Hodie nobis caelorum Rex de virgine nasci dignatus est, ut hominem perditum ad regna caelestia revocaret, gaudet exercitus angelorum, quia salus eterna humano generi apparuit.
V. Gloria in excelsis Deo, et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis.
R. Quia salus eterna humano generi apparuit.

translation:
Today the King of heaven deigned to be born for us of a virgin, that he might call lost man back to the heavenly kingdom, the host of angels rejoices, because eternal salvation has appeared to the human race.
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men of goodwill.
Because eternal salvation has appeared to the human race.
